Listening exam outline

The listening exam is split into two sections (A and B). In section A you will answer questions on 8 of the 12 set works. You will extracts for each question. Types of questions include multiple choice, basical recall, describing texture, melody etc. and aural based questions.

In section B there will be a choice between two analysis questions asking you to explain musical features of set works. There are 5 bulletpoints, for example melody, harmony, texture, structure, tonality. There are also two basic questions about the piece and/or composer.

In section A there are 68 marks and in section B there are 12 marks.
